Problem

Every booking that came through Booking or Airbnb paid a commission, and the hotel controlled neither the guest relationship nor its own data. Rates, availability and services were managed in several places at once, with the risk of selling the same room twice.

Constraints

  • Guests in three languages: the site had to speak each one naturally, not through machine translation.
  • Payment had to be taken online and confirmed on its own, with nobody at the hotel having to step in.
  • The team is not technical: the back office had to be usable from day one without training.

Solution

I built the public booking site — availability search, rooms, rates and extras — and the management panel behind it: calendar, seasonal pricing, guests, services and role-based access. All on a single database, so whatever the team changes in the panel shows on the site instantly.

Relevant features

  • Availability search by dates and occupancy
  • Online payment with Stripe and automatic email confirmation
  • Seasonal rates and an availability calendar
  • Services and extras sold alongside the booking
  • Role-based panel: front desk, administration and management
  • Three-language site with editable content

Result

The hotel takes direct bookings, paid online and free of intermediary commission, and its team manages rooms, rates and guests from one panel. The guest relationship — and the data — belong to the hotel again. The system is in production.
