Saloom — Find a salon nearby, with a slot today, and book it

Problem

Two problems in one. The salon wastes time confirming appointments by hand and has no visibility of its team or its revenue. The customer calls three places before finding one with availability. And for a marketplace to work, you first need salons that genuinely use the scheduling tool.

Constraints

• Start with one pilot salon without building something that would have to be rewritten to add hundreds.
• Each professional has their own services, hours and availability; the calendar had to reflect that rather than a single diary.
• The customer app depends on geolocation and real availability, not on a listing.

Solution

I built three pieces on one NestJS backend: the business panel (per-professional calendar, staff, services, hours, clients and reports), the customer mobile app in React Native (discovery by proximity, professional profile, service and time-slot choice, confirmation) and a SaaS back office to manage accounts, plans and billing. It is the base for adding establishments without rewriting anything.

Result

Saloom runs in one pilot salon and is built to scale. It is also the lab for my next product: the scheduling tool is sold to establishments as Saloom Business, and the consumer marketplace will follow once enough salons are on board.
