emergency website design

Your site is down and Monday is not moving.

Code red: the host vanished, the developer stopped answering, the site got defaced, or a campaign you already paid for goes live in three days and there is nothing to point it at. This is the page for that. A replacement site, hand-built, live in 48 hours, $199, money back if we miss the deadline.

What counts as an emergency here

Four situations, all of which we treat the same way — as a deadline rather than a project.

The site is gone. The host suspended the account, the hosting bill went to an email nobody reads any more, or the platform shut down. The domain still works. Nothing answers on it.

The developer disappeared. Somebody built the site three years ago, holds the keys, and has stopped replying. You cannot update a phone number, and you cannot get the files.

It was hacked. The site is serving pharmacy spam, redirecting to somewhere unpleasant, or Google is showing a red interstitial in front of it. Every hour of that is doing brand damage that outlasts the fix.

You have a hard date. A campaign starts Monday, a trade show opens Thursday, a franchise agreement requires a live site by the end of the month, or a distributor will not list you without one.

In all four, the correct move is the same: stop trying to repair the old thing, publish a good one fast, and sort out the archaeology later — if ever.

Why replacing is faster than repairing

The instinct is to fix what exists. In practice, repair is the slow path.

Recovering a compromised site means finding every injected file, every modified database row, and every backdoor — and then hoping. Recovering an abandoned one means chasing credentials through an unresponsive third party. Recovering a suspended one means an account dispute with a company that has no reason to hurry.

None of those have a deadline you control. A rebuild does. We already know the structure, the hosting is provisioned in minutes, and the copy gets written rather than excavated. Two days, on a clock you can hold us to.

There is a durability argument too. A static site has no database, no plugins, no admin login and no update treadmill. The most common ways a small-business website dies simply do not apply to it.

What we need from you, minimally

Your domain registrar login, or someone who can change one DNS record. Your business details — services, service area, phone number, hours. That is the hard dependency. Everything else is optional and nothing else is blocking.

If you have the old content, send it. If you do not, we write it. If you have photos, send them. If you do not, we source imagery. None of that changes the deadline.

If the old site had rankings

Where the old URLs are recoverable, we map them to the new pages with permanent redirects, so whatever authority those pages had transfers rather than evaporating. Where they are not, the new site is submitted for indexing on launch day and built to be crawled properly from the start.

Worth being blunt about the tradeoff: a perfect migration that lands in six weeks is worth less than a good site that is live on Thursday. A site that is down is ranking for nothing at all.

The deadline is the product

The reason this page exists is that “urgent” usually means a quote in two days and a start date the following month. Here the deadline is published, the price is published, and if we miss it you get your money back.

Fill out the intake and the clock starts. Nothing else has to happen first.

Hour by hour

Your 48-hour schedule

The same published timetable for every build — the whole thing is laid out on the how-it-works page.

HOUR 00

You fill out the intake — 15 minutes

Tell us what you do, who your customers are, and what you want the site to accomplish. Attach your logo and photos if you have them. If you don’t, we handle it.

HOUR 04

We send you the build plan — in writing

You get a short written summary of your pages, tone, and the one action you want visitors to take. Reply "looks good" (or mark it up) and the build starts.

HOUR 24

Design preview lands in your inbox

A working preview of your homepage — real copy, real layout, on a live link. You send back changes the same way you’d text a friend.

HOUR 40

Revisions, polish, and speed checks

We fold in your feedback, connect your domain, and tune the site to load fast on a phone in a parking lot — because that’s where your customers are.

HOUR 48

Your site is live. For real.

Questions about emergency website design

More of them on the full FAQ page.

How fast can you replace a website that is down right now?

48 hours from the moment your intake is submitted, on the $199 package. If the emergency is narrower — you need a single working page with your phone number and services while the real site is sorted out — that is exactly what the entry package is, and it is live in two days.

My old developer has disappeared. Can you still do this?

Yes, and it is one of the most common versions of this request. We do not need access to the old site, the old host, or the old developer. We need your domain registrar login (or the ability to change one DNS record) and about 15 minutes of your time. If you cannot reach the registrar either, tell us in the intake and we will walk you through the recovery process in writing.

The site was hacked. Do you clean it or replace it?

We replace it. Cleaning a compromised site is slow, uncertain, and frequently has to be done twice — the attacker usually left more than one way back in. A clean, static rebuild on new hosting removes the entire class of problem, and static pages have no database or plugin surface to attack in the first place.

What if I do not have the content from the old site?

We can usually recover it from search-engine caches and archives, and whatever is missing we write. Copywriting is included in every package. Not having the old content does not add a day to the schedule.

What happens to my search rankings?

If the old URLs are known, we map them to the new pages with permanent redirects so the accumulated ranking follows across. If the site has been down for a while, indexing is submitted on launch day. Being fast and being up beats being perfectly migrated and still offline next week.
